What is witch hazel extract?

Witch Hazel Extract is derived from the Witch Hazel plant that is native to North America and has been used by Native Americans as an astringent and as an anti-inflammatory for centuries now. It is in fact one of the very few botanicals approved by the US FDA as a drug.
